HEROKU/Node.js DEVELOPER (Contractor)

The Heroku/Node.js Developer is an IT professional responsible for developing secure and robust cloud applications and services written in the Node.js language, and hosted on the Heroku platform. This role will be accountable for developing, monitoring and maintaining existing cloud to cloud integrations including the Salesforce.com platform.

Job Responsabilities:

  • Develop solutions primarily on the Heroku platform as a Service (PaaS) using node.js.
  • Build, Improve and optimize the performance of complex node.js applications hosted in Heroku.
  • Maintain and improve upon existing business critical node.js applications
  • Administration patching and upkeep of the Company’s Heroku environment.
  • Collaborate with the Cloud architects, to read and understand flow, class diagrams and design code.
  • Work with the support team on the timely resolution of support requests.
  • Find improved ways to resolve application bugs and provide enhanced logging.
  • Create documentation for existing and new node.js applications.
  • Deployment of code via CI/CD pipelines.
  • Define and implement best practices, and recommends for the Heroku solutions.
  • Conduct design/code reviews during major project milestones.

  • 4-6 years of experience writing code with Node.js. Experience with Heroku and Salesforce is preferred.
  • Professional Cloud developer certification is required in at least one of the leading cloud platforms.
  • Experience with user provisioning, dynos maintenance, querying Coralogix logs on Heroku.
  • Using Heroku Add-Ons or Heroku Elements for adding functionality to existing applications.
  • Strong understanding of message queuing mechanisms such as Kafka, SQS, Rabbit MQ.
  • Experience with databases hosted in the cloud such as Postgres and Microsoft SQL.
  • Previous experience with REST API integration in the cloud.
  • Knowledge of Heroku Connect and Salesforce Connect is a plus.
  • Deploying a code with a single command using developer tools like git, GitHub, and Docker.
  • Understanding of cloud-based security protocols and flows such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML.
  • Clear, professional communications (listening, oral and written communications).
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated track record as a team player.
  • Well organized, detail oriented with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
